What Is Psychology For Men?
Is This Program Right for You?
You're not a bad person — but something needs to change
It might be snapping at your partner over something small. Shutting down when you should be communicating. Feeling like you’re always one bad moment away from saying or doing something you can’t take back.
That pattern is changeable. But it doesn’t change on its own.
Signs this program is what you need
If any of these sound familiar, this program was built for you:
- You snap at people you care about — and regret it almost immediately
- Pressure builds and builds until something sets you off
- You've been told you have an anger problem — or you already know it yourself
- Conflict always seems to escalate, even when you didn't want it to
- You go quiet and shut down instead of saying what you actually need
- Your anger is affecting your relationship, your parenting, or your work
- You've been referred by a court or family law matter and need a structured program
You're not a bad person — but something needs to change
Learn And Build
What You'll Learn and Build in This Program
This isn’t about suppressing anger or pretending it doesn’t exist. It’s about understanding what’s driving it — and building the practical skills to respond differently, in real situations, in real time. Here’s what the program covers:
Understanding what's actually driving your anger
Anger rarely comes out of nowhere. This module helps you map the triggers, patterns, and build-up that lead to your reactions — so you can see them coming before they take over.
Regulating your nervous system when pressure builds
When your body is in fight mode, clear thinking goes offline. You’ll learn practical techniques to settle your nervous system — so you can stay in control when pressure, frustration, or conflict starts to rise.
Managing reactive thinking before it takes over
Reactive anger is driven by automatic thinking — assumptions, worst-case interpretations, and mental escalation. You’ll learn to recognise these thought patterns and step back from them before they dictate your behaviour.
Responding instead of reacting — in real situations
This is where the work becomes practical. You’ll build the ability to pause, choose your response, and handle difficult moments — without losing control or making things worse.
Communication that works under stress
Anger often fills the space where clear communication should be. You’ll develop the skills to say what you need to say — directly, calmly, and without aggression or shutdown.
Breaking the pattern — for the long term
Short-term strategies aren’t enough. This module focuses on creating a sustainable system — so the change you build during the program continues well after you’ve finished it.
Anger Management
How This Anger Management Program Works
A dual approach — structured learning combined with psychologist guidance
Most online courses give you content to consume and leave you to figure out the rest. This program is different.
It uses a dual-model approach — combining a structured, self-paced learning pathway with direct accountability and guidance from Clayton. You work through the program at your own pace, with the option to add 1:1 sessions where you need deeper personalised support.
This is what separates a structured psychological program from an online course.
The 6-module learning pathway
The program runs across 6 progressive modules, designed to be completed over 6–8 weeks:
01
Understanding Anger
Triggers, patterns, and the anger build-up cycle. Why your reactions happen and what’s really driving them.
02
Your Nervous System
How stress and physiology hijack your responses. Practical tools to regulate your body when pressure builds.
03
Thought Management
Catching and stepping back from reactive thinking — assumptions, escalation, and worst-case interpretations.
04
Response Training
Building the pause. Choosing how you respond instead of defaulting to reaction.
05
Communication Skills
Saying what you need clearly and directly — without aggression, withdrawal, or regret.
06
Long-Term Change
Building a sustainable personal system so the changes you’ve made stick — long after the program ends.
Self-paced — but supported
You have lifetime access to the program materials. There are no fixed deadlines or group
sessions — you work through at a pace that fits your life.
Clayton provides guidance and accountability throughout. If you need more targeted support at any point, 1:1 sessions with Clayton are available as an add-on.
Optional 1:1 sessions with Clayton
For men who want additional personalised support alongside the program, individual psychology sessions with Clayton are available. If you hold a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on these sessions.

Course Management
Why This Program Is Different From a Standard Anger Management Course
There’s no shortage of online anger management content. What’s rare is a program that’s actually built around how men think, what drives male anger, and what it takes to change it in real life — led by a registered psychologist who works with men specifically. Here’s what makes this different:
Led by a registered psychologist — not a generic platform
This isn’t a pre-recorded course built by an anonymous team of content creators. It’s a program designed and delivered by Clayton J Kuzma — a registered psychologist (AHPRA) with over a decade of specialised experience working with men. The methods are grounded in ACT, CBT, and IFS — evidence-based approaches that produce real behavioural change.
Built specifically for men
Generic anger management content treats anger as a generic problem. It’s not. Male anger — how it builds, how it gets expressed, and what’s actually driving it — has specific patterns. This program was built around those patterns, not adapted from a one-size-fits-all resource.
Dual-model: structured learning + live psychologist guidance
Most online courses give you videos to watch and a quiz to pass. This program combines structured self-paced content with direct access to Clayton for guidance and accountability. You’re not alone in the process.
Court-accepted in Australia
If you’ve been referred by a court or legal matter, this program meets DV court-mandated requirements and family court standards in Australia. You receive a formal certificate or court letter on completion.

I’m a psychologist specialising in men’s mental health, relationships, and performance. Over the past decade, I’ve worked with thousands of men through individual sessions and structured programs—helping them manage stress, anger, anxiety, and relationship challenges.
My approach is practical, structured, and outcome-focused. This isn’t just about insight—it’s about developing the skills to think clearly, respond effectively, and lead your life with intention.
Alongside my clinical training, my background as a tradesman, complementary health practitioner, partner, and father gives me a grounded, real-world understanding of the pressures men face.

Anger Management Program
Frequently Asked Questions
What is an anger management program for men?
Psychology For Men is a psychology practice based in Maroochydore on the Sunshine Coast, led by psychologist Clayton J Kuzma. We work exclusively with men on mental health, emotional regulation, anger, stress, and relationship challenges — using structured, evidence-based approaches including CBT, ACT, and IFS.
How is this different from individual therapy or counselling?
Yes. If you have a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP, you may be eligible for Medicare rebates on sessions. You can see a GP without a referral to get one — ask your doctor about accessing the Better Access scheme.
Is this program accepted by Australian courts?
Common areas include anger management, stress and anxiety, low mood, relationship and communication challenges, emotional regulation, and decision making. Many men come in dealing with one issue and find that sessions improve several areas at once.
Will I receive a certificate on completion?
Sessions are practical and structured — not open-ended conversations. You’ll work with clear frameworks, develop specific skills, and apply them between sessions. The focus is on measurable change, not indefinite exploration. This approach is built around how men typically engage with change: goal-directed, outcome-focused, and grounded in evidence.
How long does the program take to complete?
Yes — when the approach fits. Research consistently supports the effectiveness of CBT, ACT, and structured psychological intervention for the issues most men deal with: anger, stress, anxiety, and relationship problems. The key is an approach that’s practical, not abstract. Men who engage consistently see real, measurable improvements.
Is the program fully online? Can I do it from anywhere in Australia?
Yes. Sessions are available both in-person in Maroochydore and online — across Queensland and Australia-wide. Online sessions run on the same structured format and are equally effective for most presentations.
Do I need a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan?
Yes. You can book directly without a GP referral. A referral is only required if you want to access Medicare rebates via a Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP). Without a referral, you pay the full session fee privately.
What if I need more personalised support during the program?
Most men see meaningful improvement within 6-12 structured sessions, though the timeline depends on the severity and frequency of the issue. Online anger management courses are also available for men who prefer a self-paced format alongside individual sessions.
Is this program suitable if I've been referred by a court or legal matter?
