Court-Accepted Anger Management Program — Sunshine Coast and Online

The anger management program at Psychology for Men is accepted by Australian courts in relation to domestic and family court matters. It is delivered by Clayton Kuzma, an AHPRA-registered psychologist on the Sunshine Coast. On completion, participants receive a formal certificate or letter of completion that can be submitted to courts or legal representatives. The program is available online across Australia. Medicare rebates apply with a valid Mental Health Treatment Plan from your GP for additional individual sessions.

Who Is This Program For ?

At Psychology for Men, our Sunshine Coast clinic offers a structured, step-by-step path:

This program is for men who need to complete a structured anger management program as a legal requirement — or who want to demonstrate proactive engagement to a court, legal representative, partner, or employer.

You may be:

  • Attending due to a domestic violence (DV) court order or condition of bail
  • Attending to due other civil court matters
  • Required to complete anger management as part of a family court parenting matter
  • Seeking documentation of engagement for a legal proceeding or magistrate
  • Taking proactive steps ahead of a court date to demonstrate commitment to change

Whatever the circumstances, the program is structured to meet requirements and delivered by an AHPRA-registered psychologist — the credential that carries the most weight in formal legal contexts.

If you have a specific court requirement or need the program completed within a particular timeframe, contact us before booking so we can confirm it’s the right fit and work with your timeline.

What the Program Covers

The anger management program at Psychology for Men is structured, evidence-based, and completed over 6–8 weeks. It combines individual sessions with Clayton with guided between-session learning. The program covers:

Understanding what’s driving your anger

Identify the real triggers, patterns, and build-up behind your reactions—not just the surface behaviour.

Regulating your nervous system

Learn how to settle your body and stay in control when pressure, frustration, or anger starts rising.

Managing thoughts under stress

Recognise and step back from reactive thinking—like assumptions, negative thinking, escalation, and worst-case interpretations.

Responding instead of reacting

Develop the ability to pause, choose your response, and handle situations without losing control.

Communication under stress

Say what you need to say clearly and effectively—without aggression, shutdown, or regret.

Breaking the pattern long-term

Create lasting change by understanding the cycle of anger and applying a practical system to shift it.

Is This Program Accepted for Domestic Violence Court Orders and Family Law?

Yes. The program is structured to meet the requirements of DV court-mandated programs in Queensland and is accepted in relation to domestic violence court orders and conditions of bail.

If your matter involves:

  • A domestic violence order (DVO) or protection order
  • A condition of bail requiring completion of an anger management program
  • A magistrate’s direction to engage with anger management
  • A referral from Queensland Police or domestic violence services

— the program at Psychology for Men is appropriate, and the documentation provided on completion is suitable for submission to relevant courts or legal representatives.

If you have a specific condition or wording in your court order, contact us before starting so we can confirm the program satisfies the requirement.

What About Family Violence Matters Beyond Queensland?

The program is delivered online as well as in person, making it accessible to men across Australia. The program’s structure, the psychologist’s credentials, and the documentation provided are suitable for submission to courts in other states.

Is This Program Accepted for Family Court Matters?

Yes. The program is accepted in relation to family court parenting matters, including:

  • Parenting orders where anger management engagement has been directed
  • Family report processes where proactive engagement is relevant
  • Independent children’s lawyer (ICL) matters
  • Child safety proceedings where demonstrating engagement is required

In the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, demonstrating proactive engagement with a structured, clinically delivered program — rather than self-referral to an unregistered provider — is directly relevant to how a parent’s commitment to change is assessed.
